Restore My Files : Information & Data Recovery

I’ve had a Compaq Presario C500 laptop for about 5 years, and it’s become very slow, so I’ve decided that I would do a full system recovery. But in order to do a full system recovery, I need the recovery disc that came with the laptop, but as it happens to be, I’ve lost it. I was wondering if there’s a solution so I could still recover the laptop to factory condition without the recovery disc.

If you have a factory-installed image on your computer, you may do so by turning the computer off, turning it back on, and pressing the f11 key before the Windows Vista logo screen appears. Then follow the directions on screen.

I was almost done with a game and the data got trashed somehow and in my memory card it now just says corrupted data can i fix that?

Well, you can’t restore corrupted save data. This is caused by inproper memory card use and also by shutting down the console or removing the memory card while the game is saving. Sorry

Ok I have a password recovery disk for my windows vista pc. He has a vista pc but he lost his password. I was wondering if i could lend him my disk and let him access his computer. Idk what to tell him can someone help me.

You need to remove the password not reformat the drive. Samurai password removal tool works well. Remember to backup the hive just in case.

I’m fixing a clients Acer Travelmate 8200 (Win XP) he bought in South Africa (we’re in Australia). He can’t find the recovery CD, and the original HDD is borked so no recovery partition either. I’ve just installed a new HDD, and am not sure on the best way to tackle this.

Only places I can seem to find the recovery CD online want me to pay for the darn thing. Is there a free download avaliable for this or should I just install a std OEM copy of XP and be done w/ it?

Start the install and run the compatability program. Log onto ms*.com and get signed drivers. Should install from there.

I just installed linux (Ubuntu) over Windows Vista on my laptop. The problem is I did not back up any of my files because I did not think I would need them. Please help.

I would agree with the first response, that program works great, just hope that the sectors your data was written to hasn’t been overwritten because if they have, then your data is most likely gone.

I have my hard drive that won’t boot connected by USB to a working computer. How can I run a system recovery cd on my broken hard drive through the working computer? I need to do this because my other cd rom drive is broken as well. Please help me if you can thanks!

Put in the recovery disc for that hard drive and see if it will allow you to select the broken one, not the working one.

If that doesn’t work swap out the hard drives, putting the broken one in only and run the disc. If your BOOT settings run the hard drive before the disc, you’ll have to go in the BOOT menu at startup (by hitting F2 or some combination, differs from manufacturers) and set it to run CDs before loading the hard drive.

D has 7.68 gb of total space but 3.61 are only left and my computor keeps flashing low disk space and it just aggreviate the crap out of me>>>>> help me fix please

Assuming you have Vista (thus drive D:\) right click on My Computer and hit manage…
Then do Disk Management, and from there you can shrink, expand, and make new partitions.
To expand D:\, first defragment your system (Start -> Accessories -> System tools -> defragmenter) then right click C:\ and click shrink. Shrink the drive how ever much you want (be sure to leave enough space for swap) and then when that’s done, right click D:\ and click expand. Expand that how ever much you can and you’re done.

A virus damage my external hard disk with conexion via USB and now the computer doesn`t recognize it and cannnot read the disk.

I need a software that Iet me repair the head of the hard disk and then the computer can read it or someone who tell me how I can repair it.

Well, there is recovery software available but if you computer isn’t recognizing it properly I doubt it’ll work.

Try formatting it using formatting software an then use a recovery program.

Is JBOD a RAID. I got a failure HDD and I want to recover the data using aero data recovery service. But it said that broken HDD will cost 279$ flat rate, while any kind of RAID will cost 1200$. I don’t know whether JBOD is regarded as normal HDD (279$) or a RAID (1200$). Thanks

As per the basic definition as per below link, I would definitively say it as a cheap alternative (in positive sense) but not exactly a RAID.
