Restore My Files : Information & Data Recovery

I found a floppy disk recovery disk in my house, and i want to reboot my laptop which dosnt have a floppy drive. Would it work on my laptop? And can i make it into a cd using my PC?

Oh, and my reason for rebooting my laptop is that it has a few trojans and things and norton isnt really helping, and it freezes alot and i cant even get onto the internet now on it. Anyone got any help on that one?

You can update the norton and run a full system scan in safe mode, also run complete spyware scan to get rid of that trojan.

The recovery disk you have, if that disk came with the computer you can use that, otherwise that recovery disk won’t help. Please backup your important stuffs before running any recovery.

If you haven’t done anything with it since formatting it, you can use Testdisk. It’s free, but a little hard to use. If it works, you’ll get all your files exactly as you had them before.

If that doesn’t work, they also have a program called Photorec. Don’t let the name fool you. It can recover photos, videos, office documents, and dozens of others. It will recover as many individual files as it can find, but it won’t know their original file name. So it will give them random names.

I have window vista. Recently I had a problem and started with the monitor, it went to sleep, and did not want to wake up. I talked to 3 HP technicians, they all said something different. And I believed they also messed up my computer somehow. My computer is on safe mode, and could not be back to the default setting. I was told to install the recovery disk. Will that help? If anyone know,s please help.

Recovery disks, or recovery partition which is what you are more likely to have, are ways that standard computer users can restore their computer to the way it was when they purchased it.

Generally, it deletes everything and reloads the original files. In other words, it will delete ANYTHING you saved.

To use it, you would need to read the directions that came with the computer. As different manufacturers use different recovery options.

Use "Get Data Back" recovery software. I used it and it worked good. i recovered many important files.

I accidentally save my game by using the pokemon storage box change on the pc. Is there a gameshark code to reverse this (to go back to the previous save)?

I need a software for my hard drive cause well it had a technical problem and the only way to access it was to format it and losted all my videos and stuff T^T i have the programs to get it back but none of them picked up any rvmb, is there any out there? it has to be free though

Recently I had a hard drive go out on me. Tried literally 10 programs before using Active Undelete. By far the best program. Will search for lost partitions from ages ago, and makes it easy to search through them for particular files or file types.

It really depends on how the sectors were written over. It will tell you the status of each file – how ‘recoverable’ they will be.

Make sure to recover to a different hard drive. You increase your risk of losing this data as you write more data over it. In hindsight, the best thing would have been to pop it into another computer and run the software before formatting it – but I understand it can be difficult to do that in some cases.

My harddrive is shot! On startup it kept wanting to check disk for consistency and that process would go on for 30 to 45 minutes trying to correct, recover, delete files, then it would flash a blue screen and shut down then restart and do it all over again, I cant recover anything from it. As long as you are using the disc that the computer came with and are only changing a hard drive, you will be fine.

The installer for Windows on recovery discs is programmed to check various pieces of you hardware to make sure that it was made by the same company that supplied the disc. (I/E you can’t use an HP Recovery Disc to install Windows on a Dell).

The hard drive is not a part of the hardware check. Everything else in your computer is exactly the same, so Windows will install. You may have to re-register your copy of Windows once you do get it installed, but this only takes a minute or two via internet.

I had a hard drive die on my old, old Dell laptop many years ago. I used the exact same Recovery Disc that the computer came with the re-install Windows when the replacement drive came in.

The corruption can never be eradicated in our society. I personally posted hundreds of letters & informed to the concerned companies, high officials, authorities that the sale of 100% counterfeit pirated CDS, DVDS, MP3 is in full swing. But neither any reputed company like T-Series, Sare ga ma (Previously HMV), Tips or any authority takes action and stop this malpractices of looting of customers. Whereas the sale of 100% counterfeit & pirated CDS, DVDS, MP3 is being made in connivance with the officials of the concerned Music companies and the authorities. The cost of pirated CD, DVD, MP3 is not more than Rs 5/- per piece which is being sold to the customers for not less than Rs. 250-300. The customers shells thousands of rupees with in minutes and the officials have shut their eyes for the interst best known to them. No Govt. agency or the music company respond if you intimate them about the malpractices. Will you think that the corruption will be eradicated in our society. No, Not at all!
We are living in the society where everybody keeps his/her eyes shut on this point. We shall get lip assurance but no action will be made, I am sure.

Sir, there is a revenue loss as well. Bollywood’s growing popularity and latest numbers of renowned Punjabi Singers are in great demand abroad means more money in the pirate’s pockets. I mean allow a fixed commission that would come on successful completio nof a work….this way atleast a culture of performance will creep in and poeple will be eager to do PERFORM their tasks ( e.g. police wala’s to raid and RTOs to issue license)

Lets face it – aspirations are rising and those in control still ive on pathetic salaries ( know how much a RTO worker earns?)

Unless we have equality in terms of pay in varied professions, poeple will invent ways to get around.
