How do i use Pc inspector file recovery for this?

I just recently deleted a huge folder in my documents called Videos.
It had over 200 movies in it. and lots of home made videos.
I cant find it in my recycle bin. D:

So i got Pc inspector. But im a newb to this stuff.
How to i get it back. Because i dont see any options saying restore videos folder. >.<

I’ve used 3 so far. I thought they were legit and I could get my pictures/videos back that were deleted without my consent after the laptop got reformatted. But for all three, you have to register and pay to get the whole job done. I obviously don’t want to do that. Is there a program I could down load for free, no registering or anything that will get my files back? Please, any suggestions would be a great help.

Personally I do not believe in free software as it will end up messing my computer with virus and spywares. So what I look for is cheap and good software. For recovery software, I bough one before, cost me 29 bucks but working very well, and good thing is that it’s one time payment and then it allows me to use forever. Take a look if you do not mind pay 29 bucks to get back your pictures.

There is a program i use which can recover files that have been deleted from recycle bin, have become damaged or are stored on a hard drive, CD or DVD that has developed bad sectors.

Some recovered files do not work, should I bother trying another file recovery program?

I deleted the My Documents folder by mistake and of course then emptied the Recycle Bin before I realized it I had done it…

So I used a file recovery program and was able to recover the files but several of them are bad/incomplete and won’t open.

Would another recovery program be able to recover these bad files? Or should I just be happy with what I have recovered and let it go?

Recovered files work fine only if 100% bits recovered. If some information or some data is overwritten or did not recovered from the file, it seems to be recovered but still it might not work. You can try some other recovery software but I think these might not be more helpfull.

Can anyone tell me what algorithms or methods File recovery softwares use…?
I know its possible to recover files deleted using Shift+Delete Keys… How does this done…?

When you delete files using Shift/Delete for example, the data itself isn’t deleted, just the index entry that says where the data for those files is located. The space containing the deleted files is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it becomes too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.

It also means that until its overwritten, the data is still there to be pieced back together by a good data recovery algorithm. That’s the basics of how file recovery software works.

System says I am running out of space in recovery D. Its almost completely in the red!

Just leave it as is. Don’t remove anything from that recovery partition. You shouldn’t even be storing anything to it. Your computer depends on it.

You should only delete it if you have already created a bootable DVD or USB flash drive and copied the recovery files to it. Otherwise, you will have to buy a copy from your dealer once you need to restore your operating system.

I lost (somehow completely deleted -from the recycling bin too) my 2009 photos folder. All holidays, trips, and birth of my son….gone! I downloaded some free file recovery software and ran it. It recovered about 30% of my photos. I was going to buy DT Utilities Digital Rescue Premium. Will it do a better job or are all file recovery programs the same?
