Trying to use my vista recovery disk and on hard drive but it only gets to 36% and quits. How can I get it bak?

I have bad disk that were copied from the hard drive so neither will help me recover.How else can I get it back without paying someone to fix it.I have a HP PAVILLION DV6000 LAPTOP

I had the same problem. Clean the disks and make backups (clones) of them. Then use the backup discs to restore. I made a backup of my HP disks and then used them to do the restore and it worked. I was getting stuck at 4% with the original discs. It’s worth a shot. If that fails you will probably have to order new disks from HP. They charge for S&H but not for the discs.
You will need another computer to create ISO’s of the discs and then burn them.

    Try using the Full System recovery option on you computer. If you can’t find, lock for it using the serach program when you hit the start button on the bottom left of your screen.

  3. just connect your lap with a good performing p.c and make a interconnection between them and acess your data from that p.c and make a back up
