How can I extract files from HDD with boot sector corrupted and having only one partition- windows and files?

Windows XP in the HDD won’t boot. Inserting system disk -no effect. Display says " disk failure".
Anybody, please help. I forgot to backup. I have no recovery media either.

  2. 1) hey first of all check your data cable is it by changing another
    2) if data cable is ok and giving any time of voice from your HDD which not its nature sound then your HDD is damage inside i means to say its board or media is damage.

    3) attach you HDD with another PC as a Slave drive then check hopefully it will show in Drives where you click on MY COMPUTER.

  3. Thanks for your answer, but I wiped my HDD and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. So I know there aren’t any viruses because all I downloaded was AVG "From the website." and Pinnacle Studio 14 HD "From my friend’s disc."

    This was happening when I still had Vista. I don’t know what it is at all, so I’m calling Systemax. Hopefully they can help. If not… I don’t know what I’m going to do. & I really don’t want to be without a computer so I’m not turning it back in unless it completely stops working.
