Question about sd file corruption and/or Icare recovery software?

I have a mini sd chip that I use in my phone and has mysteriously become corrupted and says I need to format it. Now, to get the information, I have downloaded the Icare software, which is a recovery software, how do I know what the drive is for it? And is there something better I could to to recover it? Any information is greatly appreciated.

When you connect your sd chip to computer, you will see it shown as a drive letter in ‘My Computer’. That’s the drive letter.
